This project involved the construction of a new convent building for the Sisters of the Ursuline Convent in Thurles. This new building, on the banks of the river Suir, provides bedrooms, recreational areas, prayer rooms, offices and meeting rooms for the Sisters. The building is 1,400m² over two storeys and the main features of the building are an enclosed cloistered courtyard and an oratory which is a split circle on plan and which takes its roof profile from a parabolic curve. Landscaped gardens, visitor parking areas, underfloor heating and new utilities buildings are other features of the development.

The building is designed to be sympathetic with its surroundings and it compliments the adjacent walled garden which dates from the 18th century. The building is located in the grounds of the Ursuline Convent and Secondary School in the centre of Thurles Town.
