The works involved internal demolitions and alterations of the old A&E area and the subsequent fit-out of a new A&E Department with full facilities including: Resus Area, Assessment Bays, Treatment Areas, Plaster/Procedure Room, Consultants Rooms etc. A new entrance lobby was also constructed along with associated external works (i.e external drainage alterations / hard landscaping etc).
 

The works were carried out within a live hospital adjacent to the Temporary A&E Units and below wards located on floors overhead. In order to avoid disruption to the hospital activities, we programmed the works to be carried out over 3 phases with strict procedures in place on dust and noise control. Our site management prepared detailed method statements on all aspects of the works for approval by the Design Team/HSE. We also liaised daily with the relevant HSE management (Infection Control/Maintenance Departments etc) to ensure they were all fully aware of all upcoming site activities including any necessary services shutdowns/services connections.
